Vegetable Soup with Lime

That’s what we got yesterday my husband cooked it for us and as usual he experimented by adding lime into it. Actually the lime is an old stocked in our fridge and rather than throwing it away he added it into the soup,.

I have eaten the soup with buns and it is a nice combination. This should be macaroni soup but we uses the macaroni the other day so no choice but to be vegetable only.

Seollal or Korean New Year

Tonight is New Year here  in Korea or what they called Seollal it is the first day of the lunar calendar that’s why it is also called Lunar New Year. It is the most important of the traditional Korean holidays. It consists of a period of celebrations, starting on New Year’s Day, it is also a three days holiday.

The street is empty and you can see all the cars park everywhere. Most people are just at home with their families and love ones, most of the stores are also closed early. My husband and I celebrated it very simple we just went to Popeye’s to order a box of chicken and buy baked good afterwards.

Grilling Galbi

Yesterday was our cheat day and we decided to grilled galbi we bought the large container in Lotte Super, it is 8 lbs. So after gym I started grilling the meat in our balcony while my dear husband is having his shower, when he is done he went to the bakery to buy bake goods and then cooked a macaroni spaghetti afterwards.

It took me a while to cook the galbi because they are quite big into our electric grill,  as you can see I am cooking in the window, we opened it and closed the door in the balcony so the smoke will not go inside our room.  Well the temperature is cold but a hungry stomach can’t feel it. Lol!

Macaroni Spaghetti and Cajun Sausage

I have been busy lately that I forgot to update my lonely  blogs,  this is our treats last Friday. I have cooked Macaroni Spaghetti with black olives then we also have cajun sausage in the side.

And as usual our meal well not be completed without having baked goods from our favorite bakery, while I am cooking the macaroni my husband went out to buy this stuff.

GS25 Instant Meal

Last night my husband has a certain craving for instant meal but I prefer chicken from Popeyes, so when I went out thinking how cold it is and how far Popeyes from our place I went to GS25 to buy instant meal and mandu instead.  Cheaper than the bucket of chicken, it’s been a long time since we ate instant meal eh.

Well the impulsive shopper me, buy more food than I supposed to buy. I also bought  gimbap, parfait and ice creams and different kind of mandu from what we usually bought.

Corned Beef with Eggs and Zucchini

There are times I feel tired and bored in front of my computer and when those time strikes I make myself busy in the kitchen by cooking my viand for the day. You know me I mostly run to instant viand or the preheat food, this is one of  my food experiment, corned beef with eggs and zucchini.

So instead of just eating the corned beef alone I sauteed it into garlic and onions and add the zucchini and eggs.

Egg Recipes: Eggs and Sardines

This is what I cooked for my dinner, I scrambled three eggs and mixed the mashed sardines and fried it with onions and garlic.  We usually have this viand in Philippines when fish are too expensive in the market, it tasted good and I think you can try these too in your home.

Instant Food

I am kind of not feeling well so these past few days I mostly opened canned foods, sometimes I sauteed them with vegetables and there are time I just heat in the microwave oven.

It’s one of the best thing to do when you are busy and can’t cook.

Misua and Sardines Soup with Zucchini

I have cooked misua soup today with sardines, I still got some canned foods from the Philippines. As patola (gourd) is not present here I used zucchini as my vegetables. It’s been a long time since I have eaten this kind of soup.

Misua (also spelled mee sua or miswa) is a very thin variety of salted Chinese noodles made from wheat flour. It is originated from Fujian, China. They differ from mifen (rice vermicelli) and cellophane noodles in that the latter two are made from rice and mung beans, respectively, and typically a lot thinner than those two varieties.

My Ingredients:

Zucchini cut into pieces, Misua, Sardines, garlic, onions, oil and water

Procedure:

  • Saute the garlic and onions in a little amount of oil
  • When it is brown add the sardines, cooked it a little longer and drop the zucchini
  • Mixed it and let it cook for a while before adding water
  • Add the misua and let it boil until  the soup is ready

Tofu, Sweet Potato and Kidney Beans

The other night I had a weird meal, I mean quite different from normal meal. I copied what my husband is eating (lol).  I fried some tofu, and had a boiled sweet potato and kidney beans for dinner. It’s worth it because I didn’t feel hungry again late at night.
