Shopping online in Korea is very convenient not just because it is cheaper than shopping local stores but because the items are delivered quickly as long as you ordered them on weekdays, most delivery company are only open on Monday to Friday.  The other day I have ordered pair of shoes and small bottles of shampoo to use as present for my relatives, the sellers provided a tracking details and when I found out that it was sent to unfamiliar delivery company I know something is gonna happen because it was a new one, what I mean it was not the same company who deliver items to us every time we ordered.

It was about 9 o’clock in the morning and I am still sleeping when my phone rang, as I already removed the password protection of my phone it took me time before I can answer it, I am used of sliding the screen whenever I received a phone call but this time it won’t work and it was only after 2 rings that I figured out how to get the phone call. It was the tekbe ajeossi (delivery man) calling, as I can’t understand what he is talking I just told him “Hangul mulayo” (I don’t know Hangul) but he keeps talking so I went out the apartment thinking he is around, in the background I can hear people talking.  Someone talk to me in English maybe the ajeossi find someone who can speak English and I was asked where am I, thinking they can’t find our apartment I told him our town and where to find the apartment like saying landmarks and stores.

After few minutes I received another phone call it was the delivery tekbe ajossi thinking he was lost I went out to check outside again but I can’t see any delivery truck, worried where my order will be delivered I went down and went to the gym owner where we are working out as I saw him outside from where am I peeping upstairs.

I asked help to talk at tekbe ajossi so I dialed the number and hand the phone to him, it turns out the tekbe ajossi is just calling me that he is already near in our town and asking where am I or where he is going to deliver the items I have ordered.  I have figured it out after the gym owner told me that the delivery will be here after 20 minutes and I heard him saying the chicken place where we at.

It is funny huh? I am thinking the other way that he was lost but the truth he was just informing that my items will be delivered soon and if I am at home when he will came to our apartment. Haha!

There are lots of things a smart shopper can do to save money at everything. I love frugal shopping and I consider myself as frugal shopper because I love buying things when they are on sale. The other day in the supermarket while pushing my cart I stumble to a sale bin of Mise en Scene Shampoo and Conditioner.

It was a huge sale from ₩11,800 to ₩3,800 thinking how much I can save buying this items, I bought three pairs of shampoo and conditioner. I have first used these brand when my husband bring home the gift he receives from his employer when it is Chuseok in Korea. It was pleasuring experience because my hair feel smooth and silky.

As expected my husband was not happy seeing my haul, for him it is not saving money but spending money to the things I don’t really need. Oh, well I am planning to include this haul on my balikbayan box.

If there’s one thing my husband and I in common that is  the love in watching baking show, we are the last one to know that there’s already fourth season of the Great British Bake off.  My husband immediately downloaded all the episodes of the said baking show and we have watched episode by episode.

We are fans of the bake off challenge, we have watched the American and Australian bake off as well. Of course while watching my husband and I has one or two bakers we would like to win, when Frances won my husband believed she really has the talent and she is really a baker from within.

It is the weekend and we are craving for something good, pizza is on my husband’s mind and fried chicken is on mine. But my husband doesn’t want to buy fried chicken because it is a bit expensive and he doesn’t want to eat chicken, so when I went to pizza school I have ordered the pizza he like and I have ordered my chicken, my chicken fillet pizza exactly!

Great choice isn’t it? I am not only going to have a chicken but also a pizza, I have enjoyed it so much with chili sauce toppings and fickles at the side.  Yum!

We care our dogs as part of the family, our little baby and the source of entertainment when we are down.  I have blogged a few days ago that Jihoo, our family dog is sick. He stopped eating for unknown reason and just two days ago he left to dog heaven. It was very saddening my family misses him so badly because he is a sweet lovable dog.

I first met him when I went home for vacation because Jihoo didn’t see me before and not familiar with my smell he keeps barking at me and doesn’t want me to be near him. As I am the one who feed him and walk him around when he needs to Poo he eventually likened me and doesn’t bother anymore if I put him in the head or hold him from time to time. What I missed about him is when he knew he did something wrong he will hide his head somewhere as if he is ashamed or afraid to be punished.

On Saturday while waiting for the pizza I have ordered I decided to go the nearby Nonghyup supermarket to look around, I want to buy items on sale that I can add into the box I am going to sent home. While walking in the aisle I have seen again the pantene shampoo, I almost bought it a day ago by impulse.

Well if I have won the first time, not this time. I bought the shampoo after few thoughts, it is really hard to resist on big sale, it cost $11.21. It will actually cost four shampoo in the price of one. Pretty good deal huh?

My husband eat salad as part of his every day meal, boring with the same food I ate every week I tried to eat salad as well. Since I am the one who prepared it I know what are the ingredients, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, garlic, chicken tidbits, soy sauce, olive oil and small portion of rice mixed together.

I have been trying it for few days, eating salad at night and I have noticed I am slowly losing weight. With that discovery, I might put salad on my daily diet instead of eating big serving of rice and viand at night.

There’s really nothing much happening to me, it was my birthday last week and on Saturday my husband treated for South African meal at Braii Republic in Itaewon. We first went to Seobinggo station to look for Turkish embassy and we found the Vivien building easily so we left right away to Hongik University to find the FEDEX but it turns out it was not there anymore. Through free wifi and my phone I have found out online that the nearest FEDEX office was in Hapjeong so went there but didn’t turn out well so we decided to just go to Itaewon to eat lunch as we are already starving.

Braii Republic is in exit 4 of Itaewon station (line 6), walk straight and turn left at the alley just before the McDonald’s. Go through the intersection, past the Juliette clothing store, and Braii Republic is on your left on the second floor.

I have ordered number 4 – Karoo Surf and Turf, it consist of 2 lamb chops, 4 prawns, green salad and potato while my husband ordered number 1 –  meat platter  consisting of  2 lamb chops, boerewors,  pork banger with garlic potato, creamy spinach and slaw. The meal was delicious and awesome I could eat more if free. Haha

The service is good, the people are very accommodating.  The place was a bit small but it was fine,  a good place to hang out during the weekend if you love meeting other expats.

My family informed me that Jihoo is sick, he is not eating nor drinking. They tried to feed him by opening his mouth and giving him food but he was restless and doesn’t like to be touched. It seems he is in pain, afraid of being bitten by the dog my family didn’t try to open his mouth again to put some food, they just left food near him.

I have told my family to bring Jihoo in a pet clinic but unfortunately there’s no pet clinic around. Our province is like a typical rural province in the Philippines where dogs were feed left over food or people food and bringing dogs to a vet is not the foremost concern.

I have read that refusing food  can be a sign of many serious illnesses of pets and can be especially damaging to the health, as they cannot talk it is hard for us humans to know what they are suffering unless they are brought to professional pet doctors.

The other night my husband feel bored of eating the same food again and again from his diet plan so he asked me to buy him an instant meal and dumplings at the nearby convenience store but as usual I went out buying another food more than what is asked to me. I bought cheese dog because I have thought my husband will like it as a few weeks ago we are craving for cheese dogs, I also bought onion rings for myself while the soft drink in is a freebie from the meal.

My husband didn’t eat the cheese dog because he thought I bought it for myself, so I’ve eaten it the next day as well the onion rings.
