How to Renew F3 Visa in Korea

As what I have blogged previously we renewed our visa and I have shared the requirements in renewing E-2 Visa. This time I am going to blogged about the requirements in renewing F-3 Visa or the dependent visa in Korea. Unlike E-2 visa it doesn’t have a lot of requirements all you need is:

  • Application Form
  • Passport and ARC
  • W30,000 for revenue stamp

That’s it no more no less and as the new regulations you need to have finger print scan of all of your fingers in the immigration.

Sending Korean Postcards to Blogger Friends

It was been a year ago when some of my online friends asked postcards from me but it was just this week I am able to send postcards to them. Quite late huh? Probably in many countries you can easily find postcards on bookstores near you but I think in Korea you can’t. You can just find them where there is western community or place where foreigners go. I have bought mine in Insadong, but I believed there are also postcards in Itaewon.

Sending a package abroad is quite expensive so I was not able to send the postcards right away after my allowance was cut since I return to Korea. I also want to add key chains and souvenir and not just the post cards, the other day when I went to the post office, the woman gave me a brown envelope and I was surprised that it is cheaper to use it rather than a box. So I am planning to send more to friends and bloggers who want a postcards from Korea, like a postcard swap.

Requirements on Renewing E-2 Visa in Korea

Yesterday we went to Suwon immigration to the renew our visa. My husband is, kind of excited anxious about the requirements he needed while waiting for our number to be served because the immigration has new policy starting this year (2012), this will be our 3rd time to renew our visas.  There’s a lot of what if, what if the requirements he has on hands are not complete, what if he need one more thing and etc.,

After one and a half hour we are able to submit our requirements and my husband had a sign of relief when his requirements are complete and there’s no problem at all.

The requirements he submitted are:

  • Application Form
  • Passport and ARC
  • Employment Contract
  • Photocopy of Business License (School)
  • Photocopy of degree with notarization and stamp from the Korean embassy in the country of applicant
  • ₩30, 000 payment for stamp revenue
  • Criminal Background Check (for new teachers only)

The immigration officer look at all his papers and then we are asked to scan our finger prints on both hands and then she asked my husband to buy revenue stamp, when it was given to her, she returned our passport and ARC with new marked/information on the back that our visa is extended to a certain date and finished!

Sweet Potatoes

Tonight while doing our walking routine we dropped by at Emart Everyday to buy sweet potatoes, they have sweet potatoes on sale.  So instead of buying in the market which we’re doing for few times already since we stop buying sweet potatoes from Lotte Super as they are becoming bit expensive.

Sweet potatoes in Korea are expensive, we bought a small box of sweet potatoes which is about 3 kilos for $9 this is already on sale. So imagine if it is not on sale they surely cost more while I can buy 3 kilos of sweet potatoes for $2 in Philippines.

Corn Ice Cream Korea

The sweet rushes in my upper gum just went away and I ate ice cream again. I am not learning my lesson huh? Oh well last night I went to Gs25 to buy ice creams, my husband choose ice cream on cone and I choose Lovelee chocolate ice cream which is in cup.

When I pay in the counter the sales clerk went to the fridge and took two packages of ice cream asking me which one I want I just nod and say any of them and she gave me the long one, it turns out it was free from buying the ice cream cones.

When I went home I gave it to my husband as it was free from his ice creams, he shared it to me though. So we ate it, it tasted like corn, I mean the ice cream inside tasted like corn aside from the cone looks like corn. This is type of  Bungeoppang if I am not mistaken, those fish ice cream in Korea.

Tonik, Dog with Human Face

I just found this online, Tonik which is a dog with human face is available for adoption. I wonder why his old owner abandon him, he is so cute and adorable. I hope someone could adopt him and give him good home and life,  he is currently in the shelter waiting for someone to adopt him.

Adopt him before it is too late, I have read that animals were not adopted whether they have human faces or not — have to die because the shelter cannot support them all. So please have a heart …

Wearing my Husband Shoes Outside

While cooking my husband’s meal for the night I’ve remember that I didn’t throw the garbage in the pink pail yet. These are the garbage that rot like fruit and vegetables skin and peeling.  So I immediately grab the pink pail when I am done cooking, it was already full and I can’t add the egg shells anymore as I am a bit lazy to wear my own shoes I just told my husband in a loud voice that I am going to wear his shoes, I didn’t wait for his reply anymore I hurriedly went out from our door.

When I am already outside I heard him saying not to wear his shoes but I didn’t return anymore. When I wore his shoes I didn’t tie the lace so I stop for a second and keep the lace inside the shoes, thinking my husband might be angry if I let the lace  touch the ground. When I returned home my husband is standing and waiting for me on his angry look, he then told me not to do it again. I just laugh because he probably thought when I left I wore his school shoes but I wore his sneakers. LOL

Secrets To Good Canine Health

When we think of our own health, we think about physical and mental aspects of ourselves. How is our nutrition? Are we dealing with too much stress? How much exercise are we getting? These are all questions that we relate to human health, but they are also extremely important aspects of good canine health. Following are the major secrets to good canine health.

Proper Canine Diet

Even though our dogs are not living in the wild, they are still canine, and they need a diet that canines thrive on. For instance, in the wild, a canine kills an animal such as a rabbit and then eats the rabbit meat as well as the organs, and stomach contents. In addition, during bigger kills, bones are often chewed clean by canines.

Huge pet food manufactures are still pushing their products as healthy for our canine friends by claiming they have real meat, healthy vegetables, and added nutrients that support good canine health. However, their promises are not always fulfilled.

Dog kibble goes through a lot of processing before it becomes kibble. Just as processed foods are unhealthy for us, they are also unhealthy for our pets. Many of the nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals, and protein, are lost throughout the process due to high heating levels.

In addition, some pet food manufactures are trying to trick us by label splitting. While meat should be the main ingredient in a food, often corn or grain is. The manufactures label their food with a meat source as the first ingredient, which means that it should be the bulk of the food, but then label three variations of corn products throughout the ingredients as well. In the end, corn products is what makes the bulk of the food (often called filler) and meat comes in second.

Good canine nutrition starts with us. It is important to understand our dog’s needs, and read labels and understand what they mean before buying any kind of dog food.

Adequate Exercise

Not many dogs will turn their nose up to a walk. While every dog requires a different amount of exercise throughout the day due to their age, breed, and natural energy level, one thing is for sure, our dogs are not being walked enough.

Obesity is becoming a major problem among our dogs, and obesity can lead to all kinds of issues such as joint, heart, liver, digestive, and lung diseases. It is our responsibility to understand how much exercise our dog really needs and give it to them, so that they can live out a physically healthy life.

Canine Mental Health

This is probably the most overlooked secret to good canine health. A dog can get easily bored when he or she is not stimulated mentally.

Exercise doesn’t just help your dog physically; it also contributes to good mental health. Going out for walks allows a dog to discover the world around their house, and they learn more about the world with each sound, smell, and experience they have, just as we do.

Moreover, activities such as training that require your dog to think, recall, and learn, are all very beneficial to their mental health. They become happier with their day, more confident in themselves, and feel more connected to you.

Dogs are pack animals, and they need companionship in order to stay mentally healthy. Watch any dog who is left in the backyard all day, with not much interaction, and you will see that they can exhibit a number of emotions such as boredom, aggression, depression, and anxiety. All of these emotions can be very hard on their mental health and cause behavior and physical health issues as a side effect.

In the end, the secrets of good canine health are similar to the secrets of good human health. A healthy diet, regular exercise, and mental stimulation are important to the health of any canine. When we take on the responsibility of a dog, we commit to giving them the healthiest life possible.

Steamed Sweet Potato with Olive Oil

These past few days I am enjoying eating steamed sweet potato drizzled with olive oil and salt. I just copied this food into my husband’s meal, I am not really aware that olive oil tasted good on food. You know I came from the country that the only oil we used at home is corn oil or coconut oil, I didn’t care about the olive oil at home when I used it on frying the food still taste the same so it was not a big deal for me.

Well not until I used it on sweet potato, the aroma of the olive oil made me crave for more of this food below. Simple yet so delicious on my tongue.

My husband didn’t like the idea of me eating more of his food because sweet potatoes are quite expensive here unlike rice which is less expensive. Anyway the sweet potato were steamed and cut into pieces, drizzle with olive oil and salt and pepper if it is available.
