On Sending EMS Package from Korea

Finally the box I’ve sent to Philippines last Friday arrived today to my family. I thought it is already gone missing because when I tracked it the last information the box arrived in the Philippines and nothing else.

My sister is so happy upon seeing pringle’s in the box, she said it’s been a long time since she’s been asking our mother to buy her pringle’s  so the pringle’s I’ve sent is just on time. One of the souvenirs I’ve sent was broken so they just glued it. Maybe the box was not carried carefully or they just throw it away (sigh). Oh well the good thing is the box still arrived., my worried feeling for it is gone.

Instant Food

I am kind of not feeling well so these past few days I mostly opened canned foods, sometimes I sauteed them with vegetables and there are time I just heat in the microwave oven.

It’s one of the best thing to do when you are busy and can’t cook.

Yoghurt as Part of My New Diet

I’ve changed my diet few weeks ago and yoghurt is part of my new diet. It has a lot of benefits,  yoghurt helped us in our gastrointestinal troubles, it is due to its active bacterial cultures. It is used in  constipation, diarrhea, lactose intolerance, inflammatory bowel disorders, stomach ulcers, reduces incidence of colon cancer. The benefits are attributed due to changes in the bacterial flora and enhancing the immune system yogurt makes when consumed.

Yoghurt is is a dairy product produced by bacterial fermentation of milk. The bacteria used to make yoghurt are known as “yoghurt cultures”. Fermentation of lactose by these bacteria produces lactic acid, which acts on milk protein to give yoghurt its texture and its characteristic tang.

Middle of the Night and Craving for Pizza

I wake up late today, it is already noon time. Felt so tired last night, my husband asked me to buy some profiteroles but sad to say nothing is left so I bought muffins instead. When I reached home he is not satisfied with the bake goods and he asked me to look for pizza in the middle of the night, I walked to the pizza place I know and they are all closed. I thought his craving will end up there, but I am wrong he asked me to look for loaf of bread as he wants to have grilled cheese sandwich so I went out again and when I came home I prepared the grilled cheese sandwich.

Korean Local Bakeshop

It has been a long walk last night, I also try to go to Watsons to buy chocolates but it is already closed when I reached there.

More Korean Street Food for Us: Korean Sundae

Did not do much today, we’ve sent the box of goodies home. It’s been here for few months already and I didn’t have a chance to send it until today. My husband got annoyed when I didn’t open the door for him in the postal office, it just happened that I forgot about it, haha plus I am walking  after him, so he told me that next time he wouldn’t carry my box anymore.

Korean Sundae

After gym we walked  to the bus station to buy street foods like hotdog, sundae, teokkbogi  and a lot more which I cannot remember the name.  We feasted at them when we reached home,.

Misua and Sardines Soup with Zucchini

I have cooked misua soup today with sardines, I still got some canned foods from the Philippines. As patola (gourd) is not present here I used zucchini as my vegetables. It’s been a long time since I have eaten this kind of soup.

Misua (also spelled mee sua or miswa) is a very thin variety of salted Chinese noodles made from wheat flour. It is originated from Fujian, China. They differ from mifen (rice vermicelli) and cellophane noodles in that the latter two are made from rice and mung beans, respectively, and typically a lot thinner than those two varieties.

My Ingredients:

Zucchini cut into pieces, Misua, Sardines, garlic, onions, oil and water

Procedure:

  • Saute the garlic and onions in a little amount of oil
  • When it is brown add the sardines, cooked it a little longer and drop the zucchini
  • Mixed it and let it cook for a while before adding water
  • Add the misua and let it boil until  the soup is ready

Toasted Bun with Jelly

It’s been a week already since coffee is not around here in our apartment which lead to left over buns. I can’t eat buns without coffee in the side so  I decided to toast the bun in the pan, and use the jelly from Popeyes.

Pepero Chocolates on Pepero Day

Yesterday was Pepero day here in Korea like what I have said it is similar to Valentines Day where couples exchange pepero sticks or chocolates. My husband came home with premium chocolate sticks from one of his student and pepero’s.

Tofu, Sweet Potato and Kidney Beans

The other night I had a weird meal, I mean quite different from normal meal. I copied what my husband is eating (lol).  I fried some tofu, and had a boiled sweet potato and kidney beans for dinner. It’s worth it because I didn’t feel hungry again late at night.
