Why Do Cats Eat Grass?

Kittens are indeed cute and adorable, I was busy preparing the moringa leaves that we are going to mixed with the pork ginger soup when my sister call me from the outside, she is saying something about “Jiyong”, our orange kitten which annoys me thinking why I have to be called when she’s there to look after the kitten.

It turns out the kitten climb into the drift wood and made some faces while enjoying the sunlight and my sister is asking me to take some photos of Jiyong. We put the kitten on leash because she is having a diarrhea and it is quite dirty to let the kitten inside our house in her state. It has been a few days since I put the kitten near the grassy field every morning so she could eat some grass to cure her stomach problem. Well it was just my observation that our older cats eat some grass and then throw up  afterwards, I have read somewhere that cat eat grass to cure their stomach ache and eating grass can help to  clear their stomach of fur, feathers, parasites or bones, which can irritate the digestive tract or even cause more lasting illness. I have noticed since a few days ago our kitten’s poop improved a bit unlike before that her poop just leak anywhere and anytime.

Kat-kat : The Playful Kitten from the Surplus Shop

Shopping for second hand clothes when they are on huge sale is one of the things I enjoy the most, it is somehow therapeutic for me. We normally do it in well-knows surplus shop but a few months ago we decided to go to a smaller surplus shop because they were on sale that day. While looking around the surplus clothes a kitten passed by, the sale lady picked it up and when she put it down I picked it up and give it a touch. The sales lady then asked me if I want to bring the kitten home,  I check it first if the kitten is a male or female since we already have a lot of kittens at home we have adopted from the street.

White Orange Kitten

The kitten was a male, so I have asked if the owner is giving it away, the sales lady replies yes just asked his “Kuya” but we told her she should do it for us since we don’t know his employer so she did, and the surplus shop owner gave it to us and we bring the kitten home.  I named him “Kat-kat” derived from the surplus shop’s name, Kat-kat Ukay-Ukay.

Kat-kat is such a playful kitten, he plays a lot from wires to rags. On his first three weeks at home, it was a pain to teach him where to litter. He keeps doing it in my father’s room below the cabinet and speakers, I almost give up cleaning his smelly poop. We decided not to let him in during the night because we noticed he just do littering inside at night, and during the day he did it in the sand but Kat-kat is such an intelligent cat when he found a way how to get inside by following the older cats but his ways didn’t change he still poop inside because it seems he is so lazy to go outside but when my father built windows in his rooms and Kat-kat grow a bit older he already learned to do his business outside. What a relief that was!

Two Black Kittens from Manila

We travel to the nearest city so my younger sister can take an exam for work purposes. After the exam we headed to Manila, we stayed in a relative’s house for few days. They have large cats and kittens since they have happened to have a breed from their former cats, and we are given kittens to bring home. We choose to bring the two black kittens because the third kitten is still untamed and it might create trouble when it is accidentally gone out of the box.

Black Kittens
I was able to bring the kittens without problem in the bus and ferry; I made sure they are well ventilated and feed. They are so adorable, I have to tie one of them on their first day at home because they might wander around and the surrounding is still unfamiliar to them and I am afraid to lost them both.

Adopting Kitten from the Street

It was less than a month ago when we found her in the highway, trying to survive and we bring her home and named her Jinjii. Yeah right, we are on our way to gasoline station when we saw a cat in the highway eating a piece of bread I can’t control myself and shout “Ming” we discussed if we are going to pick it or not, and when we returned back we stopped and my sister went by the neighborhood to ask if someone owns the cat, well nobody owns it so my sister took the kitten with her, one gas attendant sigh with relief saying “finally someone felt pity with the kitten” it turns out it was surviving there for days already.

Calico Kitten

Since we are still going to the market we brought the kitten with us even when we stop at the bakery. When we reached home our adult cats specially Junsu was not happy with the kitten’s presence so when we turn our back for a minute he immediately grab the kitten in the neck trying to suffocate it, luckily my sister was able to grab the kitten again, since that incident we are extra careful with Jinjii, I fed her at top of the cabinet while looking after her and even secure her with temporary cage to avoid the older cat from grabbing her when we are sleeping.

Today, the kitten was not a threat anymore to the older cats; they’re already friends and play together.

3 Cute Little Kittens

Having three kittens I thought was easy. That’s just what I thought. But when the saleslady of Zafeway (a grocery store here in Odiongan) gave me three kittens, one female and two males. The war starts… between me and those cute kittens.

3 cute little kittens

There first day in our house is so unforgettable, why? It is because, my mother told me to have them tie, so tie them so that they will not go anywhere because they are not yet familiar with our house. But one of the cats gets off of his tie, and just gets inside our house. I told my mother to just let the cats get released from their tie because they are not going anywhere. But an hour later as I’m going to feed them one of the cats is missing. So I look for her around the house, but I could not find her. I also look for her in my grandmother’s house and everywhere. My mother is now upset because the one that is missing is the only female cat. So she said to me, I should have not released them in their tie. I just release them because I thought they are not going anywhere. But then again I searched inside the house for the second time, now using flashlight in looking in some dark places. There she is inside our old dish dispenser below the stairs sleeping so deeply. That old dispenser is full of the old notebooks of my sister.

Soju Sleeping with Stuffed Animals and Toys

The cat is said to be one of the most sweet and loving animals but I think cat is also one the most playful pet. Why? Because, one night when I was looking for my pet cat named Soju. I saw the stuff toys scattered down the cabinet, and as I go near it there is Soju, he is  sleeping in the cabinet making one of the stuff toys as his pillow.

Cat Sleeping with Stuffed Animals

Sometimes Soju also is like a dog  he loves to follow us and if you don’t see him you will step right to him and when you accidentally step on him he will cry and sometimes he will bite you but not a deep bite though. There’s an instance too that when he’s lying in the floor and you walk beside him, he will catch your feet and try to bite as if he wants you to play with him.

Soju Sleeping in Top of the Big Box

Boxes really create attraction to cats, it was like their place of comfort. Soju, our young male cat whom I named from popular liquor of South Korea (soju) find a solace to sleep at the top of the large balikbayan box I sent home. Look at the photo below how he peacefully sleep.

Sleeping Cat

Soju was the only cat left to our family, some of the younger cat died because they are being bullied by the neighbor cat. It was saddening but we can’t prevent it especially when they fight at night. 🙁

How Dog is Cat?

This year, O2 have launched one of their most successful advertising yet, in the form of their ‘Be more Dog’ website and adverts. Without explaining too much, cats just run around like dogs and catch Frisbees and stuff. If you haven’t seen it then it’s best to just watch it:

One of the most noticeable things is that, if you really think about it, there’s little to do with O2s services throughout any of this. So that enables the rest of us to do equally tenuous links to the advert itself. For that reason, we can look at the behavior, psychology, and any other factors to determine just how dog-like cats are.

It may be worth noting that there is no actual science in this. If you require some science then you should probably look elsewhere. Instead we’re going to mark cats out of 10 for how dog they are, e.g. a cat is 7/10 dog.

Behavior

How does a dog behave? Due to their ability to be trained quickly, they often behave how you want them to. Regardless of that though, you’ll get a few servings of unwavering enthusiasm for whatever is in front of them.

Cats on the other hand, can and will not be trained. Their behavior is mainly dictated by their breed, age and how hungry they are. The only variation in this can appear when they’re unhappy, which will often result in a mess being made in your house somewhere, which you can’t train them not to do.

Dog behavior out of 10: 4

Size

For anyone that likes a real-sized dog, and by that we of course mean spaniel and up, a lot of cats just don’t meet the mark. Large dog breeds such as St. Bernard and Neapolitan Mastiffs can weigh anything up to 12 stone, far off that of the biggest common domestic house cat, the Maine Coon, which weigh up to 1.8 stone. That’s only 1/6th of a dog. 1/6th of 10 is 1.8, so cats score 1.8 out of 10 for size.

Dog and Cat Together

Speed

We spend literally about five minutes searching on the internet for these results and couldn’t find anything conclusive, however, there’s a lot of speculation that cats can generally run faster and longer than dogs. We were unsure about this, but then we remembered that cheetahs are the fastest land animal on earth.

This means that cats not only match dogs on speed, they also overtake the, literally, giving them a speed score of 12 out of 10.

Health

The health of a cat or dog depends on the breed, living conditions and diet. In the UK, the vet bills are pretty equal, and treatment for your cat such as frontline for cats is around the same price as the dog version. For that reason it’s hard to give them anything but 10/10

Summary

Hopefully you’ve found this in-depth and scientifically accurate article very informative, but the conclusive result on how cat a dog is cannot be outlined too easily, but we have deduced that cats are exactly 6 dogs out of 10.

Please get back to us if you want to add any more factors into this careful calculation.

Cat Being Bullied

My family owns few cats some of them are homeless cats that were adopted. Lebron was the tiny little cat that was given  to my sister by her professor’s family when they worked with their thesis at their house. He was very cute and chubby then, right now he looks pitiful because the chickens in our backyard loves picking him and he always ended up on pitiful situation.

Pitiful Cat

It seems the chickens loved picking Lebron eyes, I have already suggested to my mother that they should buy Eye-Mo or red eyes formula.

New Kitten: Gwiyomi

Meet the new kitten of our family, Gwiyomi.  It was given to my sister by our church mate when she saw my sister carrying one of our kittens and they she was asked if she want another kitten which she said yes and when they returned after the mass they are already carrying a cute orange kitten.

Cute Kitten

It has no name yet so when my sister asked me what’s going to be her name I immediately answered “Gwiyomi”  as it the new trend of music and I think the name fits to her.
